Horse Expo Pomona to Feature Clinicians Dr. Clair Thunes and Lydia Hiby

Grey BackgroundPomona, CA - Horse Expo events is gearing up for its first event of the year this week, the 2012 Horse Expo Pomona scheduled for February 2-4, 2012, at the Fairplex. Joining the exciting lineup of clinicians at this year's event will be equine nutritionist Dr. Clair Thunes and animal communicator Lydia Hiby. The Horse Expo Pomona features something for everyone, and horse enthusiasts of all kinds will be able to gain knowledge from expert clinics and enjoy a wide variety of vendors.

Dr. Clair Thunes is an independent equine nutritionist with clients across North America, and she is the owner of Summit Equine Nutrition based in Sacramento, CA (www.summit-equine.com). Her clients range from backyard ponies to top international performance horses. With a PhD in nutrition from UC Davis, Dr. Thunes combines her scientific knowledge with her more than 25 years of personal horse experience to create diets that are straight forward, user friendly, cost effective and easy to implement.

"I was at the Horse Expo Sacramento last year and I really enjoyed being able to connect with so many horse owners and horse enthusiasts," commented Dr. Thunes. "It's a wonderful opportunity for me to share my knowledge and education. I feel very strongly about helping people to become more educated about horses. This is a great way for me to do that."

Dr. Thunes added, "I will be discussing how people should be managing their horse's weight, what affects their weight and then the strategies we can use if they are overweight or underweight to bring them back to optimal condition. I will also be talking about commercial feeds and supplements, which products they might want to use for different situations. Finally, on Saturday I will be talking about the feed and care of the senior horse - how feeding and management change as they age. I hope that the owners go home feeling empowered and more able to assess for themselves what their horses need and what products out there would be good for them."

Animal communicator Lydia Hiby will also be conducting clinics during this year's Horse Expo Pomona. Hiby has a degree in Animal Science as a licensed Animal Health Technician, and worked at a variety of animal hospitals, before meeting her mentor, animal communicator Beatrice Lydecker. Her training, her beliefs, and word of mouth referrals bring people to a higher level of understanding, and deepen their relationship with their animals.

"I'm a communicator so I've always dedicated my life to improving the relationship on a deeper level with people and their horses," explained Hiby. "As I continue to learn over the course of 27 years doing this I have more tips and suggestions and stories to share with people. I am really looking forward to that. I've done the show in the area for the last ten years and I've done the horse expo show up in Sacramento for the last three years. They're just a great organization to work with and I am just so excited we are going to be able to do this again."

Mark your calendars today for this week's Horse Expo Ponoma, February 2-4, 2012, and enjoy the opportunity to learn from Dr. Clair Thunes and Lydia Hiby.
