EQUESTRIAN - IRISH RIDERS FLY THE FLAG AT SIX WEEKEND SHOWS
MARION Hughes and Michael Hutchinson are Ireland's two representatives at the Nations' Cup show in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates this weekend, and have already made their mark with Hutchinson taking third place in the opening two phase competition on Le Roi, and Hughes slotting Crispien into fourth.
Alex Duffy is Ireland's sole rider at the three-star show in Vestfold, Norway, but the Spanish sunshine has attracted no less than nine Irish competitors to the two star event at Oliva, including Billy Twomey, making a return to international show jumping after a back injury.
Twelve Irish riders have opted for the warm weather of the two-star classes at the Portuguese Atlantic Tour in Vilamoura, while in Neeroeteren, Belgium, Conor Drain flies the Irish flag with four horses.
In Eventing, Becky Tandy, Carol Gee and Caroline Marwood represent Ireland at the one-star fixture in Vale Sabroso, also in Portugal.
