MODERN PENTATHLON - LANIGAN-O'KEEFE TAKES BRONZE MEDAL
IN WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
TWENTY year-old Arthur Lanigan-O'Keeffe has won Ireland's first major championship medal in Modern Pentathlon by taking Bronze at the Junior World Championships in Drzonkow, Poland.
The Dubliner won the fencing phase, was sixth in swim but retained his first place overall. Lanigan-O'Keeffe had two fences down in the show jumping phase and started the combined run/shoot in first with a 12 second lead, but finished third overall.
Lanigan-O'Keeffe started his athletic career in Pony Club Tetrathlon, where for five years he was Irish National Champion.
