Show Jumping - Ireland has Seven Riders in World Top 100

IN the official Longines World Show Jumping Rankings published today (Friday), covering competitions during the month of September, Ireland has seven riders in the top 100, with 18 year-old Bertram Allen from Wexford holding his place amongst the global elite of the sport.

Leading the Irish entries in the monthly list is Tipperary's Denis Lynch in 24th place, while Co. Down's Conor Swail takes 34th place.

Tipperary-born Shane Breen is at 43rd in the rankings, while Olympic Bronze Medallist Cian O'Connor is at 52nd.

Bertram Allen, who has had a remarkable run of success in the senior ranks this year, retains his 67th position, while Mayo's Cameron Hanley, not long back from a two year injury lay-off, enters the top 100 in 84th place.

The Longines World Show Jumping rankings measure the performances of over 2,000 international riders each month, and the current leader for the second month in a row is Britain's Ben Maher.
