Show Jumping - Splaine Announces La Baule Nations' Cup Squad

WITH the first of the Europe Division One Nations' Cups scheduled for La Baule in France next Friday (March 17), Irish Team manager Robert Splaine has today (Friday) announced his squad for the opener in the 2013 Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup series.

The Irish squad of five, from whom Splaine will pick his team of four, is:
Shane Breen with Balloon or Cos I Can (ISH)
Shane Carey with  Ballymore Eustace
Capt. Michael Kelly with Annestown (ISH)
Shane Sweetnam with Amaretto Darco
Billy Twomey with Tinka's Serenade

La Baule will be even more important for Ireland than usual, as under the new rules introduced last year it is one of only four Nations' Cup venues at which the country can gain points in the current season, the others being St. Gallen in Switzerland, Aachen in Germany and the home venue of Dublin.
