SHOW JUMPING - THREE WINS FOR IRELAND AT BARCELONA, ONE AT VIENNA

TIPPERARY-born Shane Breen this afternoon (Sunday) racked up his second win at the five-star show in Barcelona, Spain with a victory in the big speed class aboard the bay mare Ominerale Courcelle.

Taking 8,250 euro as his prize, the Irish rider came home just under two seconds ahead of American runner-up Brianne Goutal and the 16 year-old gelding Onira, in a 50-strong class.

Earlier today Breen steered the nine year-old stallion Balloon into first place in the two-phase competition, ahead of Spain's Gonzalo Anon with Tobias.

Breen also took a second place with Ominerale Courcelle on the opening day of the Spanish show.

On Saturday, Co. Down rider Conor Swail rode the eight year-old mare Martha Louise to the latest in a notable run of recent wins, outpacing France's Reynald Angot and Othello du Pharen by less than half a second in the speed competition.

Meanwhile in the two-star classes at Vienna, Austria, 17 year-old Wexford native Bertram Allen claimed victory in the speed class, while Tipperary's Denis Lynch and Night Train took second place in the five-star Speed Derby on Saturday, behind France's Roger Yves Bost and Castle Forbes Cosma. Ireland's Mark McAuley and Loriot placed fourth in the same competition.

In four-star dressage at the Austrian capital, Ireland's Anna Merveldt finished sixth in the Grand Prix with Coryolano, with Germany's Isabel Werth claiming victory on Don Johnson.
