SHOW JUMPING - TWO ALLENS MAKE SERIOUS MARK AT MOORSELE

IRISH brother and sister Bertram and Grace Allen left their mark on many of the Junior and Pony competitions at Moorsele in Belgium this weekend, with Bertram putting the cherry on the cake when he came home with the Junior Grand Prix trophy this evening (Sunday).

Seventeen year-old Wexford-born Bertram accounted for no fewer than three wins and one top five finish in the Junior classes, while younger sister Grace produced two wins and two top five places in the pony competitions.

Bertram's Grand Prix win came aboard the eight year-old mare Zenzation, which also gave him a first place on Friday, while the Irish Sport Horse Simply Be delivered victory for the Irish teenager on Saturday.

Sixteen year-old Grace first tasted victory in Friday's two-phase class with the Irish-bred pony Attyrory Clover Lilly, and then used the same pony to claim the honours on Saturday. She also placed Cassandra vh Roelhof twice in the top five.

Bertram is a former European Pony Gold Medallist and a member of Ireland's 2012 Gold Medal Junior Show Jumping team.
