SLATTERY NAMES TEAM FOR FRENCH NATIONS' CUP

CHEF d'Equipe Tom Slattery has named Ireland's pony team for Saturday's Nations' Cup at Fontainebleau in France, where the Irish will hope to clinch their third consecutive team victory.

The team will line out as:
Paraic Kenny/Grey Ross (CP)
Matt Garrigan/Dr. Spot
Molly O'Shea/More Clover (ISH)
Tom Foley/Crown Jewel

Irish pony teams took victory in the Nations' Cups at Fontainebleau in 2011 and 2010, with Kenny and Foley appearing on both teams, though on different mounts.

Today at Fontainebleau, Darragh Ryan, aboard the Irish-bred Lonesome Dove, chalked up the only Irish victory when he won the last class of the day, but Paraic Kenny and Grey Ross claimed third place in the 1m25 speed competition, with Laura Connors and the Irish-bred Ballynoe Fear Bui also taking third in the seven year-old class.

In the six year-old competition three Irish-bred ponies were in the top five, with Raphael Lee and My Little Farrier in second, Tim McDonagh and Delphi Heather in third, and Rebecca Collins with Arklow Bay Lad taking fourth place.

Emma Murphy and the Irish-bred Knockroe Little Mike also finished in fifth place in the 1m15 two-phase competition.
