Team Ireland Equestrian reaches new record of 50,000 Facebook Page Likes

TEAM Ireland Equestrian’s Facebook page has now reached a record total of 50,000 Page Likes.

Official Facebook figures also show that the news, videos, pictures and results posted on this page reached more than 200,000 people during the last week alone. Projected over a year this means that a remarkable total of ten million people would see the posts on Team Ireland Equestrian, making it one of the most successful information vehicles in the whole of the sport.

Of Page Likes, the vast majority originates from Ireland, but there is also a strong representation from the UK, USA, France, Italy, Australia, Germany, Brazil, Canada and Belgium, demonstrating the widespread international appeal of Irish riders and Irish horses.

Team Ireland Equestrian’s Facebook page covers all aspects of sport and breeding, from show jumping through to eventing, dressage, carriage driving, para equestrian, coaching, vaulting, endurance and other disciplines.

Facebook analytics show that Irish equestrian fans are predominantly female (73 per cent) and in an age range spanning 13-54, with the strongest representation in the 25-34 sector.

On Twitter, meanwhile, Team Ireland Equestrian (@TeamIRLEq) now has just under 11,000 followers.

Team Ireland Equestrian on Facebook and Twitter is an initiative of Horse Sport Ireland, the sport’s national governing body.
