THREE IRISH RIDERS LINE OUT FOR NEXT WEEK'S BELGIAN WORLD CUP BATTLE

THREE Irish riders will line out at the last World Cup show of 2011 in Mechelen, Belgium, which begins on Monday December 26.

Antrim's Jessica Kurten and Tipperary's Denis Lynch both campaign three horses at the five-star show, while Kildare's Niall Talbot will compete with two.

Mechelen is eighth in the 13-leg series, which ends in the Netherlands next April.

Denis Lynch is currently the best placed of Ireland's international riders in the World Cup leaderboard, holding sixth position, with Co. Down's Dermott Lennon climbing to 11th after his third place finish at London Olympia last week.

Mechelen kicks off on Monday with the Queen's Cup and the evening's 35,000 euro feature class, which is open to Belgium's top five riders and the top five foreign riders at the show.

The World Cup competition takes place on Friday, December 30.

Ireland is also represented at Mechelen's under-25 competitions by Ivan Dalton and Kelly O'Connor.
