Sponsorship Opportunities Available to Support Horse Tales Literacy Project's First Annual "Birdies and Backswings" Golf Tournament

Wellington, FL -  - The first annual Bridles and Backswings Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at the beautiful Binks Forest Golf Club in Wellington, FL., and it offers sponsors the perfect opportunity to make a difference in the literacy rate of the youth of Palm Beach County. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to fund the Horse Tales Literacy Project's "hands-on" literacy programs for children on Palm Beach County.

The Horse Tales Literacy Project, a non-profit organization committed to improving our literacy rate, uses that natural connection between children and horse to motivate children to read.   Founded by Tim Farley, the son of the late Walter Farley-the author of the classic Black Stallion book series, and Mark Miller, the owner of the Arabian Nights Dinner Theatre, the organization provides a simple but unique approach to motivating children to read by connecting them with a classic book about horses and then, exposing them to the magic of being able to interact with live horses.

This unique literacy program is hosting their First Annual Bridles and Backswings Golf Tournament, and they will utilize these same innovative and motivational elements to make their golf tournament a truly unique experience, as well.  "We wanted to make our golf tournament reflect the unusual tools that our literacy program uses to get the children hooked on reading---horses!" explained Shelly LeConte, the South Florida Coordinator of the Horse Tales Literacy Project.  "So, not only will we have a fun day of golf, but we will have equine characters, on hand, from Walter Farley's classic book, "Little Black, A Pony" to meet and greet the golfers as they arrive."

Golfers will take to the course and play will begin with a 1:00p.m. shotgun start.  The afternoon of golf will include course competitions, games, raffles and prizes.  After an afternoon of golf, the participants and their guests will enjoy an awards reception with a silent auction.  Then, the guest will enjoy a sumptuous BBQ buffet dinner and a live equine reenactment of a scene from Walter Farley's classic book, "The Black Stallion", provided by the world-famous Arabian Nights Dinner Theatre from Kissimmee, FL.

There are many ways that area businesses and individuals can get involved with this event and support the programs of the Horse Tales Literacy Project.  "The purpose of the Bridles & Backswings Golf Tournament is to bring the community together and to raise awareness of the literacy needs in our county, our state, and our country." explained Glenda Laveck, Executive Director of Horse Tales Literacy Project. "We are looking for sponsorship support which ranges from buying a TeeSign for as little as $125 on up to $5,000.  There is still some room left for players and foursomes to join the field of play with us at the tournament, too!."

After an afternoon of golf, the participants and their guests will enjoy an awards reception with a silent auction. LaGrange continued, "During the awards reception, we will be having an auction, so we are looking for any prizes and/or donated items from area businesses that people would be interested in winning, too."

The Horse Tales Literacy Project's first annual Birdies and Backswings Golf Tournament will provide everyone with a wonderful day of golf, combined with some unique, signature equine elements that will truly make this a memorable outing for everyone!

Foursomes are $400 and single players are $125-price includes golf, awards reception, BBQ dinner and live equine reenactment of a scene from Walter Farley's classic book "The Black Stallion", provided by the world-famous Arabian Nights Dinner Theatre from Kissimmee, FL.

Dinner, auction and show tickets are available for $45.00 per person.
