Equine Thermography Course
June 11 -13, 2012
Greater Toronto Area
Cost: $1475 (Cdn.)
Equine thermography is one of the most innovative new non-invasive diagnostic techniques that can help you detect, confirm and document a problem before the onset of a more serious injury. Before equine thermography, veterinarians could only locate a problem with observation or palpation but with equine thermography, can show tissue that’s stressed before the affected tissue becomes damaged.
ITC Canada is pleased to announce that DR. Tracey Turner, DVM, MS will be leading this valuable course.
Who should attend?
This course will cover introductory material regarding thermography as well as multiple applications for equine medicine including hooves, tendons and ligaments, joints, back and muscular conditions, and saddle fit. Please note that Equine Thermographers are not qualified to conduct a diagnosis. Our job is to take the appropriate images and collaborate with a specialist in the Veterinarian field or trainers, ferriers, saddle makers, etc. to analyze our findings.
Camera operations and the proper scanning protocol will be covered during the course. Determine what conditions are condusive for the equine scan.
There will be a “wet lab” at the barn working with horses allowing the individuals to get one-on-one assistance in thermal imaging technique, camera function, software issues, and report generation. The session will begin with a demonstration of how to perform the basic equine thermal examination and a brief review of artifacts.
