Jockey wins six races at one point-to-point

According to Horse & Hound, 20-year-old John Mathias, who works for trainer Dai Rees, has won six out of seven races he could have contended at Tivyside. 

"I thought I'd have one or two winners, but I didn't expect to ride six," Mathias says.

The six wins come almost four years to the day of his first win as a 16-year-old schoolboy, The Telegraph reports. Mathias had also gotten a win aboard Drom at Buckfastleigh the previous day and, after his record win on Sunday, he has soared to the top of the current championship table on a total of 15.
