Canadian Show Jumping Team Named for Nations' Cup in Wellington, Florida

 

 

 

Ottawa, ON —Jump Canada is pleased to announce the riders chosen to represent Canada in the International Division during the CSIO4* FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL, February 29 – March 4, 2012.

 

In alphabetical order:

Yann Candele (Caledon, ON)

Tiffany Foster (Schomberg, ON)

Eric Lamaze (Schomberg, ON)

Amy Millar (Perth, ON)

Ian Millar (Perth, ON)

 

The Canadian Nations' Cup Team that will compete in the $75,000 FEI Nations' Cup, presented by G & C Farm, will consist of the following riders and horses:

 

Yann Candele — Carlotta Singular la Magnifica, Susan Grange's 10-year-old Hanoverian mare

Tiffany Foster — Victor, Torrey Pines Stable and Artisan Farms' 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding

Eric Lamaze — Derly Chin de Muze, Ashland Stables and Torrey Pines Stable's nine-year-old Belgium Warmblood gelding

Ian Millar — Star Power, Team Works' 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding

 

Canada has won the $75,000 FEI Nations' Cup in Wellington, FL, more than any other country, claiming victory in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010.  This year, 12 countries are expected to compete including teams from Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland and the United States.

 

The two-round $75,000 FEI Nations' Cup, presented by G & C Farm, will take place Friday evening, March 2, with international course designer Anthony D'Ambrosio of the United States setting the track.  A Nations' Cup is the only competition in show jumping where riders, competing in teams of four, compete against other countries for top honours.  The top three scores from each team are counted towards the final result of the two-round competition.
