Eric Lamaze to Represent Canada at the 2012 FEI World Cup Final

Ottawa, ON — Eric Lamaze will be Canada’s representative at the 2012 Rolex FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final held at The Brabanthalle, in 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, at the Indoor Brabant from April 19–22, 2012.

For the Final, Lamaze will be partnered with his 2011 Pan American Games mount Coriana van Klapscheut, a 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare sired by Darco owned by Torrey Pines Stable and Artisan Farms LLC.

With 37 competitors representing 19 nations, the first leg of the Jumping Final will be a speed class on Thursday, April 19.  The riders will carry their scores forward to Friday’s competition, which is Table A with a timed jump off.  The top two-thirds of the competitors will then move forward to Sunday’s two-round Final, where the 2012 Rolex FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final champion will be decided.

In addition to The Rolex FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final, Indoor Brabant will be hosting a CSI3*. For that portion of the competition, Lamaze will ride Hunter's Scendix, a nine-year-old Hanoverian stallion sired by Stakkato owned by LVS Hunters and Torrey Pines Stable, and Wang Chung M2s, a nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion sired by Royal Bravour owned by Morningside Stud and Torrey Pines Stable.

Throughout the 34 year history of the FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final, Canada’s Ian Millar and Big Ben were the first horse-and-rider partnership to record back-to-back wins in 1988 and 1989. In 2011, Lamaze and his legendary partner Hickstead finished the Final overall in second place.
