Kentucky Horse Council Invites Families To Be City Slickers For A Day

Lexington, KY – Parents and kids are invited to spend a day together learning to work with horses at the Kentucky Horse Park. This one-day program called City Slickers is being sponsored by the Kentucky Horse Council. Participants can be of all age ranges, and no experience is necessary.

The event will take place on June 22nd from 9am – 3pm. City Slickers will provide a unique outing for the whole family to come learn and work hands on with gentle horses. Parents and kids will learn to groom, lead, and tack horses. Basic horse health and different breeds and disciplines will also be some of the various topics covered. In addition, families will be provided lunch while enjoying a hay ride across the park.

City Slickers fulfills KHC’s mission to support the horse industry through education and leadership. “This is a wonderful opportunity for people to be introduced to horses in a safe and fun setting,” said Anna Zinkhon, President of the KHC Board.

The cost of this program will be $25 per family (up to four members) and will include not only lunch but also admission into the Kentucky Horse Park. Registration for the event is required and will be limited to the first 48 people.
