Major Plans in the Works for Palm Beach International Equestrian Center

The Wellington Equestrian Partners (WEP) and Equestrian Sport Productions (ESP), which runs the annual FTI Winter Equestrian Festival, announced yesterday that it has big plans for developing the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC).

The PBIEC consists for the original Palm Beach Polo Club property - approximately 57-plus acres - plus an additional two parcels adjacent to the original property for a total of about 140 acres.

In the last couple of years since the 2007 purchase of the Palm Beach Polo Club, WEP/ESP has undertaken many millions of dollars of improvements in upgrading the footing and amenities offered at PBIEC for the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF).

Now they have put together plans to expand the focus of the PBIEC to include not only international level dressage competition, but to create a facility capable of hosting major championships such as the annual FEI World Cup™ finals and ultimately, a bid for the World Equestrian Games.

The initial announcement included the following details:

  • An improved derby field with permanent seating and lights to support high end Equestrian Events.
  • A new equestrian facility with covered arena, four competition rings, and permanent stabling to support a wide range of equestrian events (e.g. Dressage, Breed Shows, etc.).
  • Proposed 2012 ESP Dressage series.
  • The new home of the Palm Beach Riding Academy.
  • New Condo/Hotel to support exhibitors, sponsors, and spectators.
  • New Commercial/Retail to support equestrian interests.

The ESP website contains more information about PBIEC.
