Olympic Silver Medal Horse Seized in Bankruptcy Proceeding
The horse, Eurocommerce London, ridden by Dutch rider Gerco Schroder to both team and individual silver medals last week, has been reported seized and moved to the stables of Ben Maher in England pending bankruptcy proceedings.
Eurocommerce, which leases office space in the Netherlands, filed for bankruptcy in July. The Eurocommerce stables, reported to belong to Ger Visser, Jr, son of the owner of the real estate company, may be considered an asset subject to the bankruptcy proceedings.
The stables, which owns and breeds top quality sport horses, has 13 stallions listed on its website. The website currently shows pictures of Schroder with his silver medal.
There are no reports of the location of the other horses owned by Stal Eurocommerce.
