PATH Intl. Elects New Board Members
Denver—The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl., formerly NARHA) announced the results of its board of trustees election at the 2011 PATH International Conference and Annual Meeting. The incoming Board Members are Tom Graf, Jeff Beck, Dr. Joahn Hall and Julie Broadway.
Tom Graf is a recently-retired Senior Vice President of the Principal Financial Group, a financial services and employee benefits company. Trained as an actuary, with degrees from the University of South Dakota and the University of Iowa, Tom was a pension and insurance financial specialist over the first twenty years of his career with The Principal. He served as the Chief Actuary of the company for several years, followed by several general management positions, including Chief Technology Officer, Head of the Life and Health Employee Benefits Business, Corporate Strategist and Investor Relations Officer.
Jeff Beck is a partner at the law firm of Snell & Wilmer L.L.P. in Phoenix, AZ. Jeff's practice is concentrated in business and finance with a focus on SEC reporting and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, bond and credit financing transactions, and corporate governance and securities law compliance. He assists public and private companies in raising capital through high yield bond transactions, secured and unsecured credit facilities, and common and preferred stock issuances. Prior to attending law school, Jeff was a senior audit manager at KPMG LLP in Phoenix and audited some of the largest public companies in Arizona.
Dr. Joahn Hall has been in practice as a family physician for 25 years and has been a horse owner for 26 years. Knowing the benefit of animal-human interactions, she has exposed many of her patients to horses in a therapeutic capacity over the years. She teaches medical students and family practice residents who are interested in home care and often times takes them with her to a PATH Intl. center to expose them to a new and innovative form of therapy.
Julie Broadway has been the executive director of the American Morgan Horse Association and American Morgan Horse Educational and Charitable Trust since 2007. An active equine enthusiast, Julie has been involved in everything from trail riding, breeding and showing to serving on various horse club committees, boards and horse show management. She holds a double major from UNC; MBA from Weems Graduate School at Meredith College and is the graduate of Duke University's Advanced Non-Profit Leadership Program. Her professional career has included leadership roles in Fortune 250 companies, startup technology firm and her own consulting business, which concentrated on small business and non-profits.
