Pimlico Owners May Discuss Moving Preakness to Sunday

Talks of moving the second leg of the Triple Crown from a Saturday to a Sunday have been floating around Maryland, the Baltimore Sun reports. 

 

Joining the Super Bowl and many other large sporting events as "must-watch" Sunday sports, it is argued and predicted by some that the Preakness would only gain in profits and profile by the date change. 

 

Still, some are not convinced.

 

"This is the first I've heard about it so it's hard for me to comment on it," said Mike Hopkins, executive director of Maryland Racing Commission, Wednesday afternoon
