EQUESTRIANS UNITE WITH ROCK STAR TO "EMPOWER YOUTH"
Calgary, Alberta – Rocky Mountain Show Jumping and Stone Ridge have formed a partnership with Canadian Rock Star Robb Nash for the purposes of empowering Canada’s Youth with a program hoping to raise $300,000 in the first two years. By supporting the “Robb Nash Impact Tour,” young aspiring equestrian athletes hope to be able to reach out to members of their generation outside of the equine world who are searching for their purpose in life. "Laurel and Rob Chad with their farm Stone Ridge have been long time supporters of RMSJ and our goals of providing opportunities to the “Next” generation of aspiring equestrian athletes,” said John Anderson, president of Rocky Mountain Show Jumping and long time member of the Canadian Equestrian Team. “We hope that this partnership will have a meaningful impact on the lives of some of Canada’s’ younger generation, not only inside but outside of our sport as well. With Kara and Bretton Chad involved, both who are already beginning to make their presence known on Canada’s Show Jumping scene, I’m confident that they will make an impact and it won’t be long before the meaningful message of this partnership is heard by others.” Along with a $25,000 cheque being presented to the Robb Nash Impact Tour, Bretton and Kara Chad are launching the “Y2 Program,” The program name is short for Youth to Youth (Y2). “Both Bretton and Kara, after seeing one of Robb’s presentations and wanting to spread the youth empowerment message to others, organized a fund raiser last year |

in support of the Robb Nash Impact Tour, and helped to raise $20,000, to help him travel the country and share his youth empowerment message. They came up with the Y2 program and will act as Y2 Ambassadors, who will help to recruit other young equestrians as Ambassadors and assist with spreading the message through fund raising efforts, as well as donating portions of their own prize money winnings’ at select equestrian tournaments." “It’s great to be able to launch this program with John and RMSJ who have been so dedicated to the young up and coming riders of our sport. Bretton competed in her first major Grand Prix here just a few years ago, and I’m very proud of Bretton and Kara to see that they want to share such a powerful message with other youth outside of their sport,” said Laurel, when talking about her daughters’ involvement with the Impact Tour. Robb Nash, a Winnipeg born Rocker with two top ten radio hits in Canada with his band “Live on Arrival” uses his musical gift to tour schools across Canada working closely with youth to help them discover their gifts and purpose to guide them on their path. “We are not trying to change the world, but are trying to create “world changers.” Bretton and Kara Chad are a perfect example of those who have found their purpose but who are also able and willing to share with others. We worked with them, and now they have continued with projects that will not only impact themselves, but others as well.” When asked about this partnership, Robb replied, “We see the support from Stone Ridge and Rocky Mountain Show Jumping as a great opportunity to take our focus on Canada’s youth to an even larger audience of a generation searching for their purpose!” |
