Show By Appointment Fast Becoming the Hot New Ticket for
Reined Cow Horse Action

Wellington, FL -  Show By Appointment (SBA), an innovative reined cow horse series experiencing unprecedented success, will present the fourth show of its debut Florida series on April 20-21 at Bynum Farms in Indiantown, FL. Competitors are welcome to enter on the day of the event, and spectators are also invited to enjoy the action and witness the unique format offered by SBA.

A major draw for spectators will be the Fence Run Only from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, April 21. Blair Bynum of SBA described it as a special event that resembles Grand Prix show jumping in its challenge and crowd appeal. "It is a stand-alone class that is high-energy and high-intensity," he said.

"The Fence Run Only is probably among the fastest, most technical sports in the equine industry," explained Rick Steed of SBA. "You take a cow and run it through a designated pattern. The degree of difficulty can be extremely high, and you're riding just about as fast as a horse can run."

The Fence Run Only requires a very high level of experience and ability, but SBA also provides opportunities for riders of all levels to show in a friendly atmosphere. SBA shows offer a full slate of options for competitors, including Open and Non-Pro Bridle, Hackamore, Two-Rein, and Boxing classes. Restricted divisions, such as the 2K division for riders who have won less than $2,000 in similar reined cow horse competitions, encourage riders who may be new to the show ring to participate and gain experience. There's even a "Little Britches" Boxing class for those under the age of 11.

"The Fence Run Only is set up for the professionals and the spectators," Steed said. "The rest of our program is set up for a very even playing field for everyone from a beginning rider to an open rider. We have a category where everyone can be successful and show against people of like skills."

Ensuring that everyone has a fair opportunity to compete and win is an essential part of SBA's mission. SBA aims to make showing "Fun, Fair, and Affordable" for competitors. To accommodate those traveling long distances to show and allow for busy riders to fit showing in at their convenience, SBA allows riders to reserve their own ride times in advance. This cuts down on usual travel expenses such as stall rentals and hotels and encourages competitors to make the trip and join in the fun. Those who enter on the day of the event are worked into the schedule.

Each SBA series includes four shows. Riders who compete at three out of the four shows earn a place in the Championship Finals, slated for October 10-13, 2013, at Triple J Ranch in Sarasota, FL. The Finals offer over $100,000 in cash and prizes. Competitors may also qualify for the Finals in absentia by simply sending in entries and payment to each of the four shows. This system is designed to allow riders a chance to compete in the Championship Finals without spending the season chasing points and incurring excessive competition expenses.

This fresh approach to reined cow horse competition has been attracting interest from all over the country. SBA began in Florida, but now has planned summer circuits for Unadilla, Georgia and Jackson, Ohio. A Virginia circuit is also in the works, and many other states have expressed interest in hosting SBA events.

SBA sponsorship opportunities are available and include free vendor space at the SBA Finals. For more information about the package options offered, visit http://www.showbyappointment.com/SBA-Sponsors.html.
