Jessica Kurten, Irish show jumping rider, has lost the ride on five of her best horses.  Her longtime sponsor, Lady Georgina Forbes, has decided that the horses will not longer compete.

Kurten's best horse, Castle Forbes Libertina, has been on the mend following an injury.   Kurten rode her in a couple of classes at Mechelen (December 28 and 29, 2010) to bring her back to top competition form.

Kurten also won the World Cup qualifying round at Mechelen with Castle Forbes Myrtille Paulois as well at the Queen's Cup with Castle Forbes Cosma.

The horses will stay at Kurten's barn in Germany until details are worked out for them to return to Lady  Forbes who resides in Switzerland.

Horse and Hound quotes Kurten as saying:  "I have been very fortunate to have celebrated many great victories with the horses from Lady Forbes and I am very grateful for this time."

Update:  Kurten is showing at Zurich this weekend and is scheduled to ride API Largo for owner APR Broker Services LTD in the World Cup Qualifier on Sunday.
