Catherine Tyree Wins Amalaya Investments $20,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame
Jumper Championship at the National Horse Show

Victoria Colvin and Laura Linback Honored as East Coast Series Champions

Lexington, KY - November 4, 2014 - Catherine Tyree, of Chicago, IL, won the Amalaya Investments $20,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame (SJHOF) Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Championship, presented by the Nusz Family, at the National Horse Show at the Kentucky Horse Park on October 31.

Riding her own 12 year-old stallion DON'T GO, Tyree beat a competitive field of 31 riders. Only 13 starters qualified for the jump-off course created by international course designer Guilherme Jorge of Brazil. The pressure was on but Tyree kept her cool and guided DON'T GO expertly around the course, crossing the timers fault-free in 30.478 seconds to clinch the win and the $6,000 first-place prize money. Haley Gassel of Lenoir City, TN, and QUITE DARK 2 took second place while third place went to Victoria Colvin, of Loxahatchee, FL, and DON JUAN.

"This is my biggest jumper win for sure!" said a thrilled Tyree. "It is truly an honor not only to compete at the National Horse Show, but to win this class."

Despite her best competitive efforts throughout the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series, Tyree and DON'T GO narrowly missed winning the Amateur-Owner division of the Series by a mere 81 points. That championship title went to Laura Linback of Longrove, IL, and ATTENTION PLEASE who earned a total of 631 points in the series.

"You have to be consistent throughout the year in order to win the series, and I think that for the juniors to be able to have that opportunity gives us a great chance and great experience," said Colvin.
