Celebrate Canada at Spruce Meadows

(SPRUCE MEADOWS, Calgary, AB): The fourth week of the Spruce Meadows Summer Series is underway -and at full gallop- with the $450,000 “Canada One” Tournament. Riders from around the world, including Canada’s Olympic Champion, Eric Lamaze, are competing at the highest level of the Sport through until Sunday at Spruce Meadows. “Spruce Meadows is now the only place I compete in Canada”, says the World #1 Lamaze. “Only here do I get the level of competition, the courses and the prize money to earn the Rolex World Ranking Points I need to stay at the very top of the sport.”

Lamaze will be challenged all weekend by the sport’s biggest names from around the world in advance of next week’s $ 1 million Spruce Meadows “North American”. Athletes from Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Great Britain, Russia, Germany, and Ukraine are in tough in the international divisions over courses designed by Canada’s Michel Vaillancourt, himself an Olympic silver medalist from the Montreal Olympiad.

Over the final three days of the “Canada One” fans will be able to enjoy high performance international sport in the spectacular setting of the Meadows on the Green, to cheer on the likes of Lamaze, Millar, Madden, Howard, Spooner, Fellers, Ward and Whitaker as they each look to build on their respective Spruce Meadows’ stories, perhaps with a win in Saturday’s RBC Financial Group Cup or the ESSO Challenge World Cup on Sunday.
Why not celebrate Canada this weekend at Spruce Meadows? There is something for everyone.

Admission and parking are complimentary all this weekend only at Spruce Meadows.
