Spruce Meadows 'Masters' Tournament:
Ben Asselin Wins One for Canada and the Home Crowd

 

Young Ben Asselin, whose home base is Spruce Meadows, won his first class in the International Ring at Spruce Meadows this evening and he wasn't fazed by the pouring rain or by the big guns who were also aimed at grabbing the winner's share ($67,650) of the $205,000 Encana Cup.

Among the big guns in the class was Christian Ahlmann riding his top horse, Taloubet who scored 4 faults in the jump-off for second place.
