Spruce Meadows 'Masters' Tournament:
Cana Cup speaks French
Today's concluding class in the International Ring at the 'Masters' Tournament featured seasoned French equestrian team member, but first time Spruce Meadows competitor, Pénélope Leprevost taking the top spot in the 1.60m $150,000 Cana Cup. All-time leading Spruce Meadows money winner Eric Lamaze rode his relatively new horse Powerplay into second place.

The course for the $150,000 class presented a number of challenges, and only five riders out of the 39 competitors made it to the jump-off. The five included some of the cream of the show jumping world including London Olympic gold medal winners Ben Maher (team) and Steve Guerdat (individual), Beijing Olympic individual gold medal winner Lamaze and team gold medal winner Beezie Madden, along with Leprevost who was on the French team that won silver at the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
Maher finished third in the Cana Cup, with Madden in fourth and Guerdat in fifth.

Following the end of competition, the drawing for order-of-go in the BMO Nations' Cup was held and the German Team celebrated their luck in getting the coveted 8th spot. The full roster is:
