Spruce Meadows 'Masters' Tournament:
Canadian Pacific Steps Up as Title Sponsor for the International Grand Prix

Hunter Harrison has come out of retirement to guide Canadian Pacific (CP) through a period of transition.   He and Linda Southern-Heathcott, Spruce Meadows President, announced today that in 2014 and for several years beyond, CP takes over as title sponsor for the International.

Mr. Harrison stressed that CP is looking forward to succeeding Canadian National (CN) as title sponsor, especially since Spruce Meadows is right in CP's backyard and the company feels it is important to elaborate its support of the community.  In addition, CP and Spruce Meadows are working on developing more local charitable programs.  Further, this will be a way for the company to attain more international visibility.

CP's involvement in Spruce Meadows show jumping will not end with the International  -- they will also sponsor the Continental Tournament and CP World Cup grand prix.

More striking news for the show jumping sport is that the prize money for the International class has been increased to $1,500,000.

Hunter and Jeannie Harrison, in Double H Farms, have extensive  experience and a strong presence in the show jumping world .  Their daughter, Cayce Harrison Judge, competes on the international level.  As previous head of CN, Mr. Harrison was instrumental in establishing that company as title sponsor of the International and other show jumping competitions around Canada and the US.
