Spruce Meadows Air Force en route to Calgary
Calgary, Alberta - The first of the Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ charter aircraft is scheduled into YYC this afternoon (Saturday, September 3rd , 2016 at 1500 hrs) with its precious cargo of international show jumpers. Sixty-two of the world’s best horses depart Liege, Belgium early Saturday morning aboard a Boeing 747-400 destined for Calgary.
The Boeing 747 aircraft, the first and largest of a number of ‘Masters’ charters scheduled in the next few days, arrives from Europe with 62 horses on board, many of them having enjoyed a few weeks of rest following the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Included on the Charter’s cargo are tonnes of freshly cut flowers from Holland that will adorn the courses and the grounds during the ‘Masters’ Tournament.
