Olympic Gold Medalist Charlotte Dujardin Donates Personal Items for Exclusive Auction to Benefit Equines
Lexington, Ky. - December 18, 2015 - Double Olympic Gold Medalist, Charlotte Dujardin, has generously donated many of her most prized competition possessions, including items she used during the London 2012 Olympics, to an exclusive auction to support working equines. The auction proceeds will benefit the Brooke, the world's largest international equine welfare charity, which has its American division, Brooke USA, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
The auction will provide funds to help working horses, donkeys and mules around the world. Dujardin visited some of the Brooke's programs in India in October and was inspired to help further after witnessing the deplorable condition of working equines.
"Becoming a global ambassador for the Brooke has been one of the greatest things I have ever done," explained Dujardin, the number one ranked dressage rider in the world. "When I saw the Brooke's work first-hand, it really highlighted what a difference they make to the lives of working horses and donkeys and I hope this auction raises some much-needed support to continue their work."
The online auction is open now (http://www.jumblebee.co.uk/charlottedujardin) until bidding closes on January 3, 2016. There are 13 items available to buy such as Dujardin's Charles Owens helmet and Konig Tall Boots she wore in the 2012 London Olympics. There are multiple winner's rugs, ribbons, and sashes available to purchase as well as Valegro's saddle pads, which are signed by Dujardin and Carl Hester and a pair of Valegro's shoes!
The money raised from the auction will go towards helping almost two million hard working horses, donkeys and mules living in some of the world's poorest countries, who help their owners support their families.
This auction gives buyers the opportunity to own some truly unique items from the esteemed champion of dressage.
