Canine collaboration results in £500 donation for donkey therapy

A recent dog agility day has reaped rich rewards for donkey assisted therapy in Devon.

Around 100 people entered their pooches into the agility competition at The Donkey Sanctuary’s centre in Filham Park, Ivybridge last month, and organisers Georgina and Glynn Davies from Canine Capers have generously donated £500 raised on the day to help fund the charity’s donkey assisted therapy work for children with additional needs.

Canine Capers are a familiar sight at the centre, having given dog agility demonstrations and assisted with judging dog shows at the charity’s summer fair there for a number of years.

Centre Manager Bob Venn says:

“We are very grateful to Canine Capers for their generous donation.  We provide donkey assisted therapy to 150 local children with special needs and disabilities from Plymouth and the surrounding area each week, vital services which are possible only through generous donations such as this.  We look forward to hosting further events with Canine Capers in the future, and wish to thank Georgina and Glen Davies for their continued support.’”
