TDF Announces Winners of 2016 Two-Tempi Challenge, Sponsored by The Horse of Course

The Dressage Foundation (TDF) held the second annual Two-Tempi Challenge, sponsored by The Horse of Course, in 2016 with great response from riders and donors. Twenty riders participated in the Challenge by riding as many consecutive two-tempi changes as they could. These riders then found supporters to make a donation to TDF based on the number of changes completed. Overall, $18,153 was raised to support TDF’s grants and programs through the Challenge.

National and Regional winners have been announced:

National Champion – Heather Salden-Kurtz on Wranger,

National Reserve Champion – Kelly Pullen-Cronin on Ronaldo,

71 two-tempi Changes

Region 1 Champion – Stacy Pattison (VA) – 51 changes

Reserve – Ellie Rawle (PA) – 16 changes

Region 2 Champion – Jim Koford (KY) – 39 changes

Region 3 Champion – Kaitlyn Blythe (SC) – 43 changes

Reserve – Shannon Dueck (FL) – 39 changes

Region 4 Champion – Heather Salden-Kurtz (MN) – 80 changes

Reserve – Leah Nelson (MN) – 24 changes

Region 6 Champion – Leslie Chapman (OR) – 63 changes

Reserve – Vanessa Becker (OR) – 25 changes

Region 8 Champion - Kelly Pullen Cronin (NH) – 71 Changes

Reserve - Allison Kavey (NY) – 45 Changes

Region 9 Champion – Jenna Stern Arnold (TX) – 47 changes

We would also like to recognize the top two donor groups:

Heather Salden-Kurtz’s donors raised $6,690.

Jim Koford’s donors raised $5,754.

Riders who have horses capable of doing two-tempi changes are invited to participate in the 2017 Two-Tempi Challenge, sponsored by The Horse of Course.

Each rider will work with an individual, dressage club, stable, or any group of dressage friends who are willing to make a pledge to TDF for each successfully completed consecutive two-tempi change. All donations are used to support TDF’s programs, grants, and scholarships.

At the end of each calendar year, TDF will announce National and Regional Two-Tempi Challenge Champions and Reserve Champions, based on the number of completed consecutive two-tempis. There will also be awards for the top two groups that raise the most donations for TDF.
