The Electric Horse And Carriage Is The Solution To A Cruel And Outdated Industry In Large Urban Centers

L.O.V.E. EV LLC, a consortium of notable artists, designers, engineers and entrepreneurs, led by accomplished art director Tim Baurer – has designed an electric replacement for the horse and carriages in New York’s Central Park and around the world. The ingenious designs capture all of the charm and history of the traditional horse and carriage and completely eliminate the deplorable living conditions for the horses and the unavoidable accidents that plague the industry. A $5 pledge at http://www.indiegogo.com can help change everything.

Proposed Final Electric Horse and Carriage Prototype

New York, NY - Charlotte, NC - Las Vegas, NV - Toronto, ON - Paris, France -

Beijing, China - London, England (PRWEB) April 18, 2012 -- The horrors of the horse and carriage industry have long been acknowledged with bans on the practice in London, Paris, Toronto and Beijing. Diesel and gas fumes, taxis, treacherous ice and the crush of pedestrians are just some of the reasons horses are in constant danger and horse-drawn carriages have no place in the urban environment.

The movie “Blinders” uncovered the stark reality of the untenable living conditions for horses and the real dangers of horse and carriage operations in large cities.

L.O.V.E. EV LLC – a consortium of notable artists, designers, engineers and entrepreneurs, led by accomplished art director Tim Baurer – has designed an electric replacement for the horse and carriages in New York’s Central Park. The ingenious designs capture all of the charm and history of the traditional horse and carriage and completely eliminate the deplorable living conditions for the horses and the unavoidable accidents that plague the industry.

"We feel we've come up with an exciting option that would preserve the nostalgia of traditional carriage rides and yet be compatible with the current electric car proposal,” says Baurer.

These innovative and exciting electric carriage concepts are based on the designs of the first electric cars from the early 1900’s with some featuring a “moving” horse up front. Final mechanical/electrical engineering of the full-size prototype will be handled by an internationally recognized automotive specialist.

“ART IN THE PARK” Now L.O.V.E. EV is calling on activists and artists in the New York City area to join the effort and eliminate the barbaric tradition of horse and carriage rides in Central Park, and help turn electric replacements into a reality. Artists are being encouraged to contribute their design talents and to help paint L.O.V.E. EV’s prototype. Everyone is encouraged to pledge as little as $5 to fund this project. Future plans call for a dusk parade of brightly lit vehicles emblazoned with the imaginative designs generated by the NYC art community.

Like Joseph Pulitzer’s drive to fund the pedestal for the Statue of Liberty in the 1880s, L.O.V.E. EV’s$5 pledge solicitation on http://www.indiegogo.com can make a huge difference. Now concerned people all over the world have an opportunity to support the innovative effort to end the animal abuse and transform an outdated industry so it meets the standards of humane behavior in 2012 and beyond.

To ease the transition to electric horse and carriages, the current industry will be given top priority:

  • No horse would be harmed or slaughtered. Horses will be shipped to rural areas near the transitioning urban centers to roam free and be cared for on donated land;
  • No employee of the current horse and carriage industry would lose his or her job. All drivers, trainers and stagecoach hands will be retrained and hired to tend the electric horse and carriage replacements.

Funds raised for this project will not only finance building a full-size replica for New York City’s Central Park, but also cover the cost of transporting our prototypes to interested cities around the world. Generous pledges could help save endangered horses in urban centers across the globe.

The electric horse and carriage will transform the industry and bring it in line with the environmental and ethical concerns of the 21st century. By incorporating contemporary conveniences like WIFI, heat and A.C., private compartments, sliding glass windows and sunroofs, it will also reestablish and reinvigorate the horse and carriage industry in metropolitan centers throughout the world. In addition, it will preserve the nostalgia and romance of a glorious bygone era. “The horses deserve to be treated in a fair manner,” professes Baurer. "It only takes one horse and carriage operator to lease our vehicle and usher in a new generation!"
