Tim Stockdale Released from Hospital

British show jumping rider Tim Stockdale has left the the specialist spinal care unit at the Orthopedic Hospital in Oswestry, Cheshire.   He has been recovering from injuries he received in an accident while trying a young horse on October 17th.

He fractured three vertebra in his neck and was kept immobile for six weeks to allow the fractures to heal.

He told British Show Jumping:

"It's just great to not only be outside but also upright having spent six weeks staring at a hospital ceiling.  I remain fully supported by a collar as the fractures are still clearly visible on xrays taken yesterday but I'm over the moon that I've been allowed to continue my convalescence at home.

"I'm looking forward to seeing my sons once we get back and then taking a gentle walk around the yard to look at the horses.  I can't tell you how welcome a stroll that will be!".
