Whisper, a Hannoverian stallion by Weltmeyer out of Feine Dame H by Feiner Stern, has been euthanized following a short illness resulting from an injury.

He won the Horse of the Year title in New Zealand at the National Championship show in 2010 ridden by owner Judy Hartstone of Raglan.  

Hartstone first saw the horse in Australia and later was able to purchase him in 2010.  Together, the pair won most of the classes they contested in New Zealand, placing 2nd only once.  

According to Horsetalk.co.nz, Hartstone said of her loss:  

"It [euthanasia] was the least I could do for him - he was such a special horse.   I have such a deep respect for him that I couldn't bare to see him suffer in any way."
