Two Oklahoma Men in Jail Alleged to have Fed Horses to Dogs
According to 5Newsonline.com, an Oklahoma man and his grandson, Albert and William McReynolds, were arrested on animal cruelty charges after deputies found the remains of eight dead horses and two dead dogs on the family's property.
Live dogs were chained near the horse carcasses and had been feeding on the remains. In addition, horse remains had been put into hog pens.
Several live horses were found on the property, in poor condition.
5News quoted the Sheriff who said,
“This is by far the worst case of animal abuse I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen a case where people were actually feeding animals to other animals.”
Another member of McReynolds' family maintains that he was actually trying to care for sickly horses he had taken in to nurse them back to health. Hunters had shot the horses and McReynolds only fed them to the dogs after they were already dead.
McReynolds, however, is in jail and faces several counts of animal abuse.
