BECKY BROWN WILL COACH DRESSAGE FOR THE USA MACCABIAH
OPEN EQUESTRIAN TEAM

Philadelphia, PA – Sloane Milstein, Open Equestrian Chairman for the 19th World Maccabiah Games, announced the appointment of Becky Brown as the Dressage Coach for the Open Equestrian team for the 19th World Maccabiah Games in Israel, July 2013.

Becky Brown has vast experience coaching in the Dallas, TX area since graduating from Texas Tech University in 1976. During her college years, she traveled to England and studied at the Talland School of Equitation in Cirencester and earned her British Horse Society Instructor’s certification in 1973. She has taught horsemanship classes at Eastfield Community College and has also been a guest instructor for the United States Pony Club.

“I am honored to have been chosen to coach at the Maccabiah Games. I never would have been able to travel to Israel without this opportunity,” Brown said.  “I am thrilled to be able to experience and learn about my heritage and at the same time represent the USA at an international competition! I can't wait to meet the team and coach these talented athletes.”

Brown’s programs in Dallas, TX are focused on coaching and training kids the same way she would train athletes that have Olympic aspirations. Many of the students she has coached have succeeded in one star, two star, and three star level competitions. Her students have won medals at the North American Junior Young Riders’ Championships, the Junior National Preliminary Championships and held top spots on the USEA Year-End Leader Board. Many of her students have also participated in University equestrian programs.

Brown has earned the United States Dressage Federation and United States Hunter Jumper Association certifications. In 2012, she was awarded the USEA Cornerstone Award, which is a national award honoring those instructors who have taught over 20 years and have shown excellence in teaching and producing excellent riders. She also won the Area V Dr. Glynis Roth Memorial Award which is awarded to the person who embodies the traits of enthusiasm, dedication and overall sportsmanship.
