Amateur Riders Should Get Entries In For the
USHJA Zone 4 Free Clinic

Wellington, FL-  Entries are still being accepted for the USHJA Zone 4 Free Clinic, hosted by the Floridian Community Bank. This free event, open to all active USHJA Zone 4 amateur riders, will take place on February 25, 2013, at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center. Zone 4 is pleased to have Cynthia Hankins serving as this year's clinician.

Hankins, a Pennsylvania native, comes to the clinic with an extensive riding and showing resume. She was the fifth place finisher at the ASPCA Alfred B. Maclay Finals at the age of 12, and has only progressed from there. Throughout her junior career, she achieved many prestigious awards including the USEF Hunter Seat Medal and being named Best Child Rider at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show.

"Though she is a disciple of mine, no two people teach the same," George Morris stated. "Cynthia is a top rider and an excellent teacher. She is very old school and classically trained."

Following her junior career, Hankins moved to Paris, France, to compete across Europe. Hankins has been an "R" judge for over 30 years, judging all of the major equitation finals and hunter classes at the Winter Equestrian Festival. In 2012, she was a clinician for the USHJA's Emerging Athletes Program, and produced the praised DVD, "A Day at the Finals."

The Floridian Community Bank USHJA Zone 4 Free clinic will be broken down into four groups: a group at 2'6", two groups at 3", and a final group at 3'6". The spots are filling up fast as amateur riders across Zone 4 try to reserve a spot in their group. Riders are encouraged to send their entries in as soon as possible for scheduling purposes.

"This is one of the better clinics this season to have the opportunity to get involved with," said Chris Gilman, Floridian Community Bank, Palm Beach County Advisory Board member and volunteer for the clinic.

Rider openings for the clinic are still available to amateur USHJA Zone 4 riders only by contacting Chris Gilman at dudeville@bellsouth.net. There has been a growing interest in the clinic from professional riders, however this clinic is only open to USHJA Zone 4 amateur riders. The professional riders that are interested in attending are more than welcome to audit the clinic for free. Stabling will be available upon request, for a mere $30 fee.
