According to the Telegraph, five spectators were injured after a horse jumped a barrier fence and landed in the crowd at a steeplechase in Australia.

According to reports, Banna Strand, who had lost jockey Rowan Waymouth, jumped a three metre high fence into a crowd of about 50 people in Warrnambool, Victoria.

The injured spectators were taken straight to hospital, according to Australia's AAP news agency.
