WESTERN DRESSAGE ASSOCIATION® of AMERICA BEGINS AN EXCITING YEAR
The Western Dressage Association® of America (WDAA) was active in the recently concluded United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. Many of the Executive Board members of WDAA serve in a variety of roles from supporting technical committees to the Board of Directors of USEF itself.
The Executive Board members who attended the USEF Convention were delighted with the widespread enthusiasm for Western Dressage from all parts of the equine community. Western Dressage will once again appear in the Morgan Horse Breed (MO) section of the USEF Rule Book with Rules mirroring the 2013 Rules for Western Dressage offered by WDAA. Western Dressage tests created by WDAA will also be found on the USEF website and utilized in the Morgan Horse Breed. These Rules and Tests can also be found on the WDAA website at http://westerndressageassociation.org/western-dressage-rules-tests/ or via the USEF website.
Due to the overwhelming interest in Western Dressage, WDAA is also making some exciting changes in its outreach and internal structure to better serve our expanding membership. A key element is the new working committee structure which will serve as a two way conduit for program development and delivery to our membership. New committees encompass a number of areas including but not limited to; Alliance Partnerships, Education and Member Services. The WDAA reached out to its membership, Advisory Board and Founding Pioneers to populate these committees.
WDAA continues to be very excited about the future of the emerging discipline of Western Dressage. For more information regarding WDAA, its partnerships, rules and test offerings, or the discipline of Western Dressage; please visitwww.westerndressageassociation.org.
