Sacramento, CA - This weekend, the Western States Horse Expo will be getting underway at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds in Sacramento, CA, scheduled for June 8-10, 2012. On Friday, June 8, $1 of every ticket sold will be donated to the Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA). The international organization exists with the intent to create a safer environment for abused children. One of the highlight events on Friday night will be the Magnificent Seven All Around Stock Horse Championship, where seven finalists are just four events away from a $25,000 purse, and the best horseman will receive the winning title.
BACA exists as a body of bikers to empower children to not feel afraid of the world in which they live. They stand ready to lend support to their wounded friends by involving them with an established, united organization. BACA works in conjunction with local and state officials who are already in place to protect children. BACA desires to send a clear message to all involved with the abused child that this child is part of BACA, and that BACA is prepared to lend their physical and emotional support to them by affiliation, and their physical presence. BACA stands at the ready to shield these children from further abuse. They do not condone the use of violence or physical force in any manner, however, if circumstances arise such that they are the only obstacle preventing a child from further abuse, they stand ready to be that obstacle.
Horse Expo Events' Miki Nelsen has close ties with the organization and commented, "The members of BACA are amazing people, but their mission is to extinguish child abuse, and they are willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish that goal. In the past, they have done Harley rides in the perpetrator's neighborhood, and they will even go to court and stand on the steps if the children are required to testify. They empower the children and make them feel safe, it's amazing to see."
On Friday Night, just prior to the Magnificent Seven All Around Stock Horse Championship Finals, an introduction will be held for the bikers. The Western States Horse Expo will make a donation to the organization, and the BACA will have the opportunity to speak about their mission to all the guests in attendance.
