It's that time of year again, sigh! :) My mom ain't to happy... She just drives 'round getting presents and writing cards...
Where u going for christmas and how do you celebrate it?
I am at my grandparents' farm as I'm typing this. I love it here. We celebrate by having an x-mas lunch on the day and by hanging tinsil around the horses neck... :) Don't know if we can do it this year though... :( The horses have been away from their stables for 3 months know and are living off grass in the fields, but they are looking fine. But also, they are getting wilder and wilder and my Grandparents have no time to ride them. They have been away from their stables because of the 2 new pigs, Buzz and Blom, I'll post pics soon, and Blom chases me!!! ]:( She has got sum nerve! I can bet you these horses miss their food!!! :) :(

Permalink Reply by Cyndi on December 21, 2010 at 3:45pm Hello!
My family will be heading out on a 20-hour road trip starting early tomorrow morning. Too bad we're not headed to a warmer climate...in fact, we're heading to a colder one!!
Merry Christmas to you too!!

Permalink Reply by Cyndi on January 4, 2011 at 5:05pm LOL!! Yes, a 20-hour car ride. We did stop for night both on our way out there and on our way back. Drove through almost every type of weather except sleet and sunshine on the way home. We drove through a blizzard, then big wet snowflakes, then rain and then fog. The next morning we were woken up by a thunderstorm! Very interesting, and thankful that God kept us safe on the road. When we drove through the blizzard there were many cars in the ditches.
How did your holidays go? I hope you enjoyed your time at your grandparent's place, and that you got to spend time with the horses as well as the pigs :o) It was nice for us to spend time with family that we haven't seen in a long time.

Permalink Reply by Cyndi on January 19, 2011 at 5:01pm Yeah, well so did the kids I was visiting!! LOL!! No, they were all pretty good kids. No complaints :o)
Been able to spend a bit of time with Fanny in the snow (when it's not too cold to go out there - I'm a wimp in cold weather). I've had problems with her when the farrier comes, which seems to be getting worse and worse, (Fanny doesn't want to stand still for the farrier and gets very stressed and mouthy) so today I let her roam around inside the barn and picked up a rasp and gently rasped her hooves and she was absolutely perfect! She had the freedom to walk away, but chose to stand still while I "rasped" her hooves for ten seconds each...hey, it's a start! The last time the farrier was out, she said that Fanny's feet were wearing perfectly (the sole, frog, bar), and if she was able to wear the walls down on her own, the farrier wouldn't have to come anymore. So I aim to teach Fanny to stand still and let me rasp her hooves so that I only have to get the farrier to come out once in a while to see how we're doing.

You can only pray and train. :]
She must not like the way the farrier does her hooves if she's fine with you. Try a different farrier... :]
Just a suggestion. Hope it works if you try =]
