Dogs and cats for sale in pet store's, it's a terrible thing and it must be stoped!!- sooo sad!!!

Have you ever been to a pet shop and seen all of the cute little puppie and kittens in the way-to-tiny-for-any-animal-to-live-in cage's? When I was in Edmonton the past week I saw a picture that broke my heart. There were two to three puppies in each cage. The cage's were 3-4 feet long, 2 feet wide and 2 1/2 feet tall. All most all of them had no water, their fresh air was some ventalation holes on the side of the wall and when you walked by, they would jump up on the side of the cage, hiting the glass and doing that over and over again. It was sooo sad. Not to say that these poor creature's cost's 700$ to 1600$, way to over priced for a beagle!!!! There was also bunnies, 3 to 5 in each cage, and the cage's were smaller than the puppie's!!!! and thankfully they hade not cat's, but I have seen othe rshop's with a cage in the middle of the store with two small, afraid kitten's that wanted to sleep but could not as people were always coming up and putting there fingers through the cage bars. And in Edmonton again, you should have seen the bird cage. It was more like a cage they put chicks in, smaller in size and only 1 1/2 feet tall and a 5 foot by 5 foot square around. And there were about 20-25 in this little, tiny cage. Not good. Some one should do something about this, as it is animal crulty, even if t does not seenm like it!!!

I so agree lexi
I was there it is sooooooooooooooooooooooo sad
what was the name of this place?
When I go to pet stores, all of the animals go to the edge and start to beg. I just want to buy them all! But I can't because my dad says I can't and that i have enough pets. That is why I half own some birds!
I went to a pet shop yesturday, but the cages were big for the kittens and for the rabbits and guinea pigs too, and the birds looked fine, and most of the time they have the puppies in big cages on the ground so that you can pick them up and pat them and stuff. I also think that there are too many NEW pets out there and too many need to be adopted, otherwise their......... well put to sleep. :'( I'm going to adopt my pets when I grow up.
It is animal cruelty...and if you think their life in the store is bad...it's worse before...
Unfortunately this is the sad truth...and the pet trade has billions of dollars pumped into their pockets each year. The legislation here in Canada, or even in the U.S sort of lets things at pet stores...fall through the cracks.
Basically, because they are licensed to own a pet store, the law states they are exempt from any by-laws, and many others. Therefore, inspections are rarely done(unless serious complaints are made, and the owners do theirs best to cover things up anyway), and these stores get away with murder....literally.

The best thing we can all do, is stop shopping at pet stores who sell animals, or are affiliated with stores that do.
