Fiske's Hoof & Hide Balm

FISKE'S HOOF & HIDE BALM

Fiske's Hoof and Hide Balm has been tried and tested for over 100 years. It is a 100% natural, multi-purpose solution which is sold in an easy to apply container. This economical product covers the three basic needs of horsecare maintenance - 1. the hoof - 2. the hide - 3. the muscle. It serves the back yard family pet as effectively as it serves the needs of the highly active performance horse.

The ingredients combine to create a horseman's medicinal dream. They consist of a unique blend of cooling herbs and pure essential oils, along with the old faithful's... pine tar and menthol, combined in a non petroleum base and then thickened with raw beeswax. The beeswax thickens the mixture which limits run off waste and still allows it to remain a breathable barrier. The ingredients are gently blended under ideal conditions in our laboratory, thus producing a quality controlled product every time.

My gelding has suffered from Scratches - 4 white socks/stockings, 4 white feet, and pink skin underneath - perfect set up for it! FISKES helped me with a horrible outbreak of scratches on 3 of Jig's pretty little legs April 2009 ....and guess what - it hasn't come back on those legs this year!! First time in his 6 years! For the last 2 months I have had lesions on my legs caused by rashes.I have been given some medication from the doctor and it seems that the sores have not healed.This week I went into Camlachie Feeds in Camlachie ON and saw your products there. I got a brochure and went home and read it and looked up your website. I went back and purchased a 2 oz Creamy Salve and applied it to my leg area. This was on Wednesday Aug 18 and almost immediately , I saw a difference .The stinging and pain has gone and the wounds are healing up well. I will continue to use this on any cuts or scrapes I get. Thank you for a great product. I go to South Texas for the winter and have many friends there with horses.I will surely tell them about you products. Like you say "What's good for the animal,is good for the rider". You are right.

I bought your product while you were here in Calgary for the Masters. I had to write to tell you that this product is fantastic! Right now the bugs are terrible...driving the horses crazy. I covered one side of my horse with your product, the other with a leading insect repellent. Today I checked and the side with that leading insect repellent is covered in bug bites, sweat marks, bug eggs and lumps where he was bitten...the Fiske side, nothing. Also as an added bonus, my horse hates that leading insect repellent's smell (chemicals), I have a difficult time wiping his face around his eyes and in his nostrils...your product he doesn't complain about at all. I will definitely be buying it again and again. Love it.

Comment by Melanie Fiske on August 11, 2010 at 5:17pm: Fiske's works well for healing wounds, clearing infection and especially keeping the flies away on wounds in particular, but some use it for fly control regularly by dribbling the liquid on the face, around the ears and on the back and belly.

Comment by Ashley Ogilvie on August 11, 2010 at 5:04pm: I have always loved using Fiske's as a general hoof oil but recently I discovered it's great for wood chewers to keep them from gnawing on the stalls... I guess it follows the good ole rule, if it tastes bad it must work. I also recently tried using it on nasty welts from fly bites and not only did it help them heal it kept the flies out so they weren't irritated further.

I need a Fiske's bumper sticker!
