Assistant Manager

Harbour Edge Equestrian Facility is looking for a mature, energetic, athletic individual with exceptional management skills, knowledge of basic accounting principles, budgeting and of course equine managment skills. The successful applicant must have exceptional horse skills as handling horses is an essential part of daily tasks. Rider levels or similar certification would be an asset. First aid is mandatory as well; applicant must have a valid drivers license.

Harbour Edge Equestrian Facility Incorporated is an equine facility in Shelburne County Nova Scotia. Harbour Edge has room for 22 equine customers and has endless possibilities for its human customers. Every summer Harbour Ede runs a series of equine events from camps, lessons and birthday parties. The successful applicant will take part in all of these events. A number of Harbour Edges students are competitors, so show experience is also an asset.

The following are a list of task the successful applicant will be required to perform:

Weekly basic accounting, including use of simply accounting

Budgeting, assiting in purchasing supplies

Booking appointments

Scheduling and running summer camps

Organizing and assissting in training staff

Handling children in summer camps

Stable managment (daily chores, grooming, training)

Managing equine nutrition

Assisting in teaching lessons

Effectively communicating daily with customers of all ages


Hours:

During camps (3-5 days) applicant will be required to live on site and be on call as a Head camp counsellor. During regular days hours will be determined based on experience. At least 3 hours in the morning daily. Additional hours may be provided teaching weekly lessons if applicant has sufficient qualifications.

Wages:

Wages will be determined based on credentials and experience. If required, living arrangments can be arranged and accommodations for one horse.
