The French rider wins the Prize of Handwerk over natural obstacles

When it comes down to jumping fast, this man is often one of the first to finish: the French rider Roger-Yves Bost. Christian Ahlmann (Marl) already noticed this on Tuesday in the opening jumping competition, when he and his 12-year old Rhineland-bred Perry Lee didn’t manage to overtake the French rider with Jovis de Ravel. Today Ahlmann saddled his speedy gelding once again for the “Prize of Handwerk“, a speed competition over natural obstacles. But Bost was faster once again, this time with the 12-year-old mare, Kire Royal Star. Bost completed the course in only 58.87 seconds and Ahlmann took 62.43 seconds. Puis Schwizer came third with Mi Sam de Landes (CH/63.44).


The French rider competed for the first time at the “World Equestrian Festival“ in Aachen in 1990. “We won the Nations Cup that year and I came second in the Grand Prix of Aachen. However, personally 2008 was my most successful year, when I won two jumping competitions and came second twice,“ Bost reported.
