Atlanta.  Four people were injured on Friday when a driver, Odom Gerald, 28, struck the carriage in which  they were riding.

Mr. Gerald, who was behind the wheel of the Lexus, has been charged with following too closely, driving with an open container, and driving with a suspended license.  He has been released on bail.

Two female passengers and the driver were treated at the hospital.  The driver was released from hospital while the two passengers are now in stable condition.  The fourth passenger is in critical condition.

The horse was caught as it ran from the accident and was observed to be uninjured.  The impact of the auto completely demolished the carriage.  Witnesses at the scene suggested that the driver was racing another vehicle.
