On Sunday  there was a tragic accident on the Cross Country course at Zutendaal. The 
47-year-old rider Dirk Grouwels  was killed in a fall from his horse.

Apparently, the horse refused a fence and Grouwels pushed his horse over the obstacle. Both fell, with the horse falling on top of the rider. The event was immediately
stopped.

Grouwels was commander of the riding club Geetbets and an experienced rider.
