SAUGERTIES, NY (November 9, 2010)--HITS, Inc. is pleased to announce that the search is underway for the cover artwork for its 2011 HITS Thermal and HITS Ocala Official Show Programs.

Each year, HITS creates a distinct Official Show Program for the HITS Desert Circuit, which takes place in Thermal, California and the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit, which takes place in Ocala, Florida. The Official Show Programs are distributed to those in attendance and feature custom editorial content geared toward exhibitors, sponsors and spectators for each venue.

As always, HITS is seeking a dynamic image to feature on the cover of the programs. One image will be selected for the Thermal program, and another for the Ocala program. The full-color annual programs are produced as perfect-bound glossy A-sized publications and feature sponsor advertising, as well as paid local and regional advertising.

The 2011 Official Show Programs each will celebrate a milestone year as the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit celebrates its 30 th season and the HITS Desert Circuit turns 20 this year. In keeping with the anniversary theme, each program will feature a historical timeline of the circuits and a collection of favorite HITS circuit memories so that exhibitors can take a trip down memory lane.

There will be great editorial content slated for this year’s programs, such as a Spotlight on Hunter Riders that are vying for a spot in the $500,000 HITS 3’3” Hunter Prix Final and an article covering the second installment of the $1 Million Grand Prix. Both events will take place the weekend of September 10-11 at HITS-on-the-Hudson, in Saugerties, New York.

“Our goal is to produce a quality product that will not only serve as a functional publication, but also as a keepsake of this year’s shows,” said Leslie Phillips, HITS Art Director and Production Manager. “Over the years we have received tons of beautiful artwork to choose from, which makes my job a bit more difficult. It’s always exciting to see the range of work that gets submitted, and we really enjoy working with the artists.”

Phillips went on to say that subject matter is not limited to the hunter/jumper discipline and the submissions can be portfolio pieces, meaning that the artists do not have to work from scratch. “We try to select pieces that convey the look and feel of each venue with some element that says ‘ Ocala’ or ‘Thermal’,” continued Phillips.

Requirements for artwork submissions are as follows:
Final Trim Size: 8.5″ x 11″ and should account for bleed
Full Color
HITS venue background/setting preferred
Finished artwork must be submitted electronically at high resolution for print quality
Deadline for submissions: Friday, December 3, 2010

Equine Artists interested in submitting artwork for consideration for the 2011 HITS Thermal and Ocala Official Horse Show Program covers should contact Leslie Phillips by e-mail Leslie@HitsShows.com.
