The six Canadians produced a record-breaking cross country performance by all completing the Mike Etherington-Smith’s designed course without any jumping penalties. Three of the Canadian horses also finished within the tight time allowed to finish fault free, while the other three added minimal time penalties.

“Now that the WEG experience is over we are all enjoying looking back at such a fantastic experience. So many names and faces made up our Canadian squad and we are fortunate to have a fantastic group of owners whose enthusiasm and support contributed greatly in motivating our riders and support team. Our owners’ love of their horses and their commitment to competitive success is what helped us reach the podium. We cannot thank them enough,” said the Canadian Eventing Team Chef d’équipe, Graeme Thom.

Canadian Eventing created the horse recognition program to celebrate the achievements of Canadian owned horses that represent Canada in North American competition. Canadian Eventing is also very pleased to have Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s generous support of this horse recognition program. Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals Inc. will be providing each owner of the Horse of the Month with a generous gift certificate of $200 credit towards the purchase of Omega Alpha products of their choice.
